You’ll definitely want to check out Uluwatu Temple, Balangan Viewpoint, and Uluwatu Cliff and see a Kecak Fire Dance. Spend the day at Nyang-Nyang Beach
If you’re looking to hit one of the most beautiful beaches in Bali, head to Nyang-Nyang Beach. With a pristine 1.5-km stretch of white sand on the southernmost coast of Bali, the beach is one to go to if you’re looking to escape the crowds. It’s harder to get to than the other beaches on the island as it’s remote and secluded by cliffs and is located in the Pecatu area. You’ll need to trek 30 minutes down rugged terrain – but once you get to the bottom and see the crystal-clear waters and golden sand, it’s well worth it!
View a stunning sunset at Uluwatu Temple
Uluwatu Temple is perched on top of a steep cliff approximately 70 metres above the waves and is one of the top places in Bali for witnessing a stunning sunset, with direct views overlooking the beautiful Indian Ocean. Uluwatu Temple. Otherwise known as Pura Luhur Uluwatu, it is one of the six key temples considered to be Bali’s ‘spiritual pillars’ and has been named as one of the “10 Best Places for Sunsets in Bali”. As a place of worship, it also plays host to magnificent views, making it one of the top things you should do.
Head to Balangan Viewpoint
Balangan Beach is a hugely popular beach with white sand and blue waves. Tourists and surfers flock to the area, but there’s also another hidden gem – the Balangan Viewpoint. On the northern tip of the beach, there is a cliff called Tebing Pantai Balangan, with amazing views of the beach and the ocean. It is a picture-perfect backdrop for instagrammers, models and even weddings.
Explore Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park
Delve into Bali culture with a trip to Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park, which is home to some of the most iconic cultural landmarks in Bali, including the magnificent Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue – which stands tall at 121 meters and is a representation of the Hindu god Vishnu and his mount, the Garuda bird. This famed tourist destination is the ultimate destination for those seeking an immersive cultural experience in Bali.
Party and play at Sundays Beach Club
While there are numerous beach clubs in Uluwatu, Sundays Beach Club is, without a doubt, one of the most popular. With a beautiful beachfront location, you can enjoy delicious cocktails and waterfront dining, with drool-worthy dishes on offer. There are also water sports such as kayaking, snorkelling and stand-up paddleboarding to participate in. At Sundays Beach Club, you’ll listen to live music or DJs pumping out the hottest tunes and enjoy toasted marshmallows by the bonfires at sunset.

Learn how to surf at Padang Padang Beach
Uluwatu is famous for its world-class surfing spots, and if you’re a beginner, head to Padang Padang Beach, where you can learn to surf like a pro at the Impossible Surf School. Known as one of the best surf schools in Bali, the award-winning Balinese instructors offer group lessons for two and a half hours. They provide all of the equipment, personalised instruction – and the fun of riding the waves for the first time.
Watch a Kecak Fire Dance show
The Kecak Fire Dance is a traditional dance performance in Bali, also known as the Bali Fire Dance, where you’ll see the locals put on showstopping Kecak dances with swirling flames and vibrant cultural outfits. The Kecak Fire Dance performance is based on the Hindu epic Ramayana and features a group of over 50 people telling the story while dancing and chanting. The show starts at sunset, usually around 6 pm, and the Kecak Fire Dance takes place at the Uluwatu Temple complex with views of the ocean.
Tuck into traditional Indonesian fare at the Sanur night market
Uluwatu is brimming with markets, but when it comes to sampling the food, head to Sanur night market. The market, which runs from 4 pm until midnight daily, has 25 food vendors, allowing you to try truly authentic Indonesian food. You can tuck into chicken satay, the meatball soup bakso, chicken noodles with dumplings, chicken rice, fried rice, and stuffed pancake martabak. It’s also a seafood lover’s idea of heaven, with generous portions of grilled prawn or fish fillet cooked in front of you.
Sip cocktails at Rock Bar
For a truly unique experience, head to the Rock Bar. Perched atop a distinctive rock formation and 14 metres above the waves, Rock Bar Bali has a backdrop of a 1.3 km coastline, making it the perfect place to celebrate the bride-to-be. Sip on delightful cocktails such as “Punch Rock”, “Rockberry Martini” and “Spa on the Rock”. With delicious drinks, a resident DJ mainly spinning Mediterranean beats from a special booth carved into the rock face and spectacular views, Rock Bar is a place you don’t want to miss when visiting Uluwatu.
